Homemade burgers are an essential for your cooking repertoire. They are versatile and can be frozen for future meals. On top of that, you can be super sneaky and use your burger patty to sneak more vegetables into your diet. Sounds like a win to me.
What You Will Need
- 1kg Prime Beef Mince (Or any other mince you like, different grades of mince have different % of fat)
- 0.5 – 1 Red Onion (depending on how much you want)
- 1 – 1.5 Zucchinis
- 4tsp Cumin
- 4tsp Paprika
- 3tsp Oregano
- 2tsp Chilli Powder
- 2tsp Salt
- Pepper
- 1 Egg
Optional Spices/Ingredients
- Finely chopped mushrooms
- Tumeric
- Garlic
- Bread Crumbs
Step 1
Place mince in a large bowl. Dice onion finely and chuck in with the mince. Grate the zucchini into little strips and add all the spices and egg. Play around with your spice mixture, you may need more or less of certain ingredients based on your preference.
Step 2
Mix altogether then roll into hand sized balls. Makes approx 7 good sized patties.
Step 3
Heat non stick pan with oil. I like to use Olive Oil. You can use whatever oil you like, coconut oil also works well if you’re cooking on high heat. If you’re feeling really lazy you can put them on a tray and oven bake them so you can cook all the patties at the same time
Step 4
Eat! Make burgers, put them on rice, whatever you want to do with them. I promise you won’t be able to taste the zucchini!
